
Adam Horowitz

Social Entrepreneur and business consultant, Adam Horowitz, founded QuarterCompany in 2008 with the mission of “strengthening local communities by guiding both nonprofit and for-profit businesses to achieve organizational excellence for the benefit of the common good.”
Graduating from Nova Southeastern University with a degree in Business Administration and Finance, Adam went on to serve several companies in an executive capacity, including the Miami Museum of Science, the Miami New Times, the South Florida ArtCenter, and the Alchemical Courtyard. He also was the CFO responsible for building the $25 million Miami Children’s Museum on Watson Island – a project that was completed both on-time and on-budget.
Throughout his career, Adam has invested much of his free time supporting various non-profit and community based organizations and serving on several Boards of Directors. In 2008, the then Dade Community Foundation (now Miami Foundation) awarded Adam with the opportunity to participate in their Miami Fellows Initiative program, which provides emerging community leaders the opportunity to participate in an 18 month leadership and professional development program. In 2011, Adam was a recipient of a prestigious nomination as Man of the Year by the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
Adam has served as:, United Way’s Audit Advisory Committee and Redesign Revisited Task Force, Miami Foundation’s Dade Fund Board, Miami Dade College’s School of Business Advisory Committee, Venture Coach for the University of Miami’s Launch Pad, an adjunct professor at Miami-Dade Community College’s Non-Profit Institute, and Treasurer for the Quayside Towers HOA and Tower 1 associations. Adam has also provided regular training programs to non-profit and start-up organizations through the Partners for Self Employment. Adam also enjoyed his role as a mentor with Educate Tomorrow, who matches foster children with professionals in the community.
Born and raised in South Florida, Adam has spent his entire professional career developing valuable relationships with various organizations, business moguls, and community leaders. In 1992, Adam was diagnosed with Stage-5 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and doctors were unsure if he would live more than a few months. Adam was forced to give up various opportunities to leave town for college to stay home and fight his Cancer. As a result, he met his wife to be, Janet Horowitz, at college and has been married since 1997. Together they raise their daughter, Nina, and their son, Daniel.
